Top Ten Tuesday: What I’m Eternally Grateful For

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

Today is a Thanksgiving Freebie!

Seeing as I am from the UK, I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. However, I do like to reflect on the things I love occasionally. So, I decided that I would make a list of 4 random bookish related things that I am extremely thankful for!

Art

Despite my non-existing artistic skills, I love art. I love appreciating it. I would gladly spend an entire day just having my eyeballs glued to art (not literally…. but also – literally). Bookish art however, is a whole other level of love! Here’s a list of some amazing artists that I follow on Instagram. (but not all of them…. I follow a lot of artists and they are all amazing! Maybe I’ll make a post??):

Books

We all love books. I love books. You love books. I also love notebooks but that’s a whole other obsession hobby.

But I’m really grateful for books. I love looking at books. I love smelling the books. I love buying the books (sorry, not sorry). I love talking about books with people. I love screaming about books with people. I really love the collective screeching we do. Fills my heart with joy ❤

I’m thankful that books are still being printed despite our society’s continuing technological advancement. I’m thankful that there are so many ways to buy books, or just access books in general (bookstores both in person and online, libraries, getting e-books, etc).

I have so much love for books. For everything they do for me that makes me feel positive.

Adventure

On the same topic. I love the way that every different book brings us a different adventure.

I am grateful that in a world were there isn’t anything new for us to explore or find, we can jump into a book and find all kinds of worlds waiting for us. And we didn’t even need to leave the house, pack a bag of supplies or put ourselves in extremely dangerous situations (although our feelings are always in constant danger where books are involved.)

I’m grateful for the adventure that we can put on our shelves and go on whenever and where ever we want. I’m grateful for the love that comes from reading about these adventures and characters. I’m grateful for the action and beautiful places that we get to visit in a world that is often standing still.

I’m just…. grateful that we have books in our world.

And Finally, I’m Grateful For This.

I’m grateful for the community I have some how sneaked my way into (I don’t know how I got here, you don’t know how I got here…. but I don’t plan on leaving). I’m grateful for everyone I get to screech about books with, I’m grateful for how open and kind everyone is here.

Starting a blog was one of those decisions that I didn’t really think much about beforehand, I just went for it. And I’m so glad I did.

I’m so grateful for being apart of this community, I love all the support everyone offers each other. I love how friendly everyone here is, I love the love. There’s so much love. The blog’o’sphere is truly an amazing place to be, and I’m glad that I’m here.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING IN ADVANCE TO AMERICA AND ANYONE WHO CELEBRATES!!!

How are you celebrating Thanksgiving this year, if you are?? What things are you thankful for? Both in general and/or in the bookish sense??

  1. Yay, gratitude lol! I think it’s always so important to remember everything we’re grateful for. I am most certainly grateful for books! I’m also grateful for my loving and supportive family who totally understands that when I’m frantically typing away, I am plotting world domination (my mom keeps asking me if I want to be the next J.K. Rowling).

Since I’m American, I do celebrate Thanksgiving! I always forget that it’s an American holiday. I’ll be doing a lot of driving and spending it with a lot of family and eating a lot of mashed potatoes.
