Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Have Waited A Century For My Attention, But They’re Impatient And Have Resorted To Throwing Things At Me

Happy Tuesday my friends!! I hope you’re having a good day!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Today’s prompt is “Backlist Books I Want to Read”. Except in my case (and I’m sure many other readers are in the same boat) it’s books I STILL HAVEN’T READ!!!

You remember how I said awhile ago about how I felt like all my Top Ten Tuesday posts are always somehow TBR shame posts??? THIS WHOLE POST IS A TBR SHAME POST! I SWEAR I ACTUALLY READ STUFF!! I JUST HAVEN’T READ A LOT OF OTHER STUFF!!!

Any whoooo. Here are 10 Backlist books that I most definitely plan on reading….. I just don’t know when.

I think collectively, we, as readers are just magpies when it comes to books. Or dragons. Dragon-Magpies. We see the shiny. We need the shiny. And sometimes we are so focused on the new shiny, that we forget the old shiny.

If you click on the book covers, they will take you to Goodreads so that you can add them to your TBR. We can all suffer the increasing intimidation our TBRs wield, together.

What backlist books are sitting on your TBR?? Are there any at the top of your list that you really want to get to? How overwhelming is your TBR??? Have you turned into a book-beast yet??

  1. I proudly accept the mantle of Dragon-Magpie. Wait, is this supposed to be something done proudly, considering our TBR is in the corner shaming us? Funny thing, I actually just picked up The Night Circus and Shiver, too, so they are now on my bookshelf glaring at my for not reading them. Yay for being in the same boat! I just finished The Archived, though, and it was pretty good. 🙂 I hope you enjoy them whenever you get to them (and that they don’t revolt and smother you in your sleep in the meantime!).

    1. I too am a proud Dragon-Magpie. I think the whole, collecting new shinys thing will never go away. I will always dive for the new shiny books that I “need”.
Whenever I look at my TBR, I swear that the stereotypical ominous sound effect from horror movies blasts from it at full volume.
My bed is literally right next to my bookshelves….. they probably would smother me tbh… they’re evil enough XD
      Happy Reading!!! 😀

  2. The Night Circus looks awesome. And Vampire academy. And now that I’m loving her Three Dark crowns series so much I’ll probably be reading more Kendare Blake too!

    1. Agreed. I’m a sucker for magical realism and a book about magicians. In a circus. I. Am. Sold. Gimme!
I haven’t read her Three Dark Crowns series, I might give that a go? I’ve heard good things about it!
      Happy Reading!

  3. OMG, you must read The Night Circus! It’s one of my favorites!! I listened to Shiver on audio this year, I think I probably would have liked it more during my Twilight phase.
